Job Summary Monument Health is seeking an experienced and dedicated Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) for a PRN position to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a key member of our neonatal care unit, NNPs play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to newborns and premature infants. We prioritize a collaborative and patient-centric approach, and we are committed to excellence in neonatal healthcare. Job Description Essential Functions: In-House Patient Care: 1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of newborns and premature infants during in-house care. 2. Formulate and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings, collaborating with neonatologists and specialists. 3. Provide direct patient care, including neonatal stabilization, respiratory management, and ongoing monitoring. Transport Responsibilities: 1. Conduct thorough pre-transport assessments to ensure the safe transport of critically ill infants. 2. Provide neonatal stabilization and respiratory management during ground and fixed-wing transports. 3. Collaborate closely with the transport team to ensure seamless and comprehensive care during transport. Collaboration and Communication: 1. Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. 2. Effectively communicate patient status, treatment plans, and changes to the interdisciplinary team. Education and Support: 1. Provide education and support to families during both in-house care and transport, offering guidance on infant care, feeding, and developmental milestones. 2. Offer mentorship and support to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Quality Improvement: 1. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize neonatal care practices. 2. Contribute to evidence-based practice projects and stay current on advancements in neonatal healthcare. Work Schedule: - PRN position requiring flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on providing in-house and transport coverage. Additional Requirements Required: - Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner specialization. - Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license. - Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC). - Minimum [1] years of experience in neonatal care, with expertise in neonatal stabilization and respiratory management. New graduates accepted with strong clinical skills. Preferred: - Experience working in a Level III NICU or similar neonatal care setting. Physical Requirements: Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
