Position Status: Part time Shift: First Shift (Days - Less than 12 hours per shift) (United States of America) Hours per week: 20 Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt A Brief Overview A compassionate and motivated TI (Assistant Teacher) to support our program. In this role, you will work closely with the TII (Lead Teacher) to create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that promotes the social-emotional, and cognitive development of each child. The TI will assist in implementing the curriculum, managing classroom activities, adhere to all licensing regulations, promote health and safety and adapt to the individual needs of the children. This position requires excellent communication, collaboration, and observational skills, as well as a positive and flexible attitude. They will assist with sterilizing toys and play areas or perform other duties to ensure children are in a safe, engaging, clean environment. Education Qualifications High School Diploma / GED Preferred Experience Qualifications Must be 16 years old. Required Working with infants and young children. Preferred Experience handling groups of children. Preferred 3 Months working with Infants or Toddlers in a license child care. Preferred Experience in teaching or education, infant to 3rd grade. Preferred Experience with social emotional learning and training that support pro social learning. Preferred Skills and Abilities Creative mindset and the ability to initiate fun activities. (Required proficiency) Ability to deescalate upset individuals. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire. Successfully pass a KBI background check is required. What you will do Child Supervision and Safety: Actively supervise children during all classroom times and activities, outdoor play, and transitions between activities to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. Repot any safety concerns or incidents to the TII (Lead Teacher) or Leadership as needed. Support Curriculum Implementation: Assist the TII (Lead Teacher) in delivering age-appropriate curriculum and educational activities. Participate in facilitating engaging, hands-on learning experiences that promote social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child. Classroom Management Assistance: Help maintain and organized, safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. Support the TII (Lead Teacher) in the managing classroom behavior by reinforcing positive behavior strategies and ensuring children remain engaged in learning activities. Observations and Support of Individual Needs: Assist in observing children's developmental progress, providing feedback to the TII (Lead Teacher). Adapt activities to support individual learning styles and developmental stages, offering additional support to children who need guidance. Family Communication Support: Build positive, respectful relationships with families by providing daily feedback on their child's activities, progress, and behavior. Communicate any concerns or noteworthy achievements to the TII (Lead Teacher) to ensure appropriate and consistent family engagement. Collaboration and Professional Development: Collaborate closely with the TII (Lead Teacher) to ensure a cohesive approach to classroom management and curriculum execution. Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training to continually improve skills and stay updated on early childhood education best practices. Facility Maintenance and Cleaning: Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment by assisting with daily cleaning tasks such as wiping down tables, organizing materials, sanitizing toys and other necessary as assigned, and reporting any facility maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel. Classroom Presence: maintain an active, supportive presence in the classrooms, engaging with children during free play, transitions, and quiet activities, while also being attentive to their emotional and social needs throughout the day. Classroom Setup and Material Preparation: Assist with setting up the classroom each day be preparing learning materials, organizing activity centers, and ensuring that all necessary supplies are ready for lessons and activities. help with rearranging the classroom for special themes or events. Inventory Management: Monitor classroom supplies, materials, and toys. Communicate with the TII (Lead Teacher) when items need to be replenished or replaced and help organize and maintain an inventory of learning materials and classroom essentials. Clerical Tasks: Assist with light administrative duties, such as recording attendance, maintaining children's daily activity logs, and helping organize children's work, or documentation as needed. Outdoor Supervision: Support the TII (Lead Teacher) in supervising outdoor playtime, ensuring children's safety while promoting active participation in outdoor physical activities. Engage with children to encourage positive, safe and healthy play interactions. Event Participation: Assist with the planning, preparation and execution of classroom and center-wide events, such as holiday programs, family nights, field trips, and staff training under the direction of TII (Lead Teacher) and Leadership. Flexibility and Adaptability to Support the Needs of the Center: Be adaptable and flexible in assisting other classrooms or working at different locations within the facilities as needed to ensure coverage and consistency in care across all age groups. Travel Requirements 5% Possible travel between Building Blocks locations.
