Role Description
The Staff Accountant is a key member of the company’s accounting & finance team and
reports to the Controller. This role is responsible for
leading the Accounts Payable process. This position will also be
involved with assisting the Senior Accountant and the Controller as needed to
respond to info requests by management, external business partners and for
financial audit purposes. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of
demonstrating creativity in development and management of procedures and
processes, as well as excellent conflict management and problem-solving skills with the
ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Fundamental objectives include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
● Oversee the administration of accounts payable and maintaining related files and records
● Categorize GL transactions with the proper account, department, date and entity
● Collaborate with other departments to obtain any missing expenses and receipts
● Monitor expenses for any discrepancies such as amounts, vendors, etc.
● Reconcile bank and credit card statements
● Assist in external audits by providing documentation &/or supporting schedules
● Effectively manage change within the organization resulting from necessary process
● Maintain financial accuracy & discretion while meeting deadlines, especially for month end close
● Demonstrate strong working knowledge and practical experience applying US GAAP
● Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

● Experience in business with international sourcing and distribution of durable goods
