As Business Development Manager, you will integrate across Customer Sales, the Customer Leadership Organization and Brand Marketing in leading annual plan management for assigned brands within our Grocery portfolio, including iconic brands such as PAM and Mrs. Butterworth’s. You will develop prioritized specific sales goals, information, and programs to translate into plans for field sales execution. Coordinate with Brand to develop plans consistent with long-range goals. Communicate insights, category growth strategies and important business topics to the field. Establish collaborative relationships with customer and sales teams. Connect customer and brand strategies to achieve accelerated growth plans. Lead the field in the delivery of annual volume, trade, and profit plans for your assigned brands. You will report to a Director of Business Development. What You'll Do: Voice of the Customer: Advocate and represent the customer point of view internally. Serve customer teams by securing internal agreement on efforts to succeed with customers and accomplish brand strategies. Serve Brand teams by providing the voice of the customer and integrating brand strategies into customer business plans. Set the Agenda: Manage brand specific agenda and prioritization of programs. Assist to develop customer level distribution and merchandising targets with supporting insights and merchandising activation plans for each important initiative. Partner with Field Sales to achieve brand merchandising, assortment, pricing and shelving (MAPS) goals. Arm the Field Sales Teams with Actionable Insights & Tools to Sell: Manage activation of insights-oriented strategies (e.g. category, shopper) for national and customer-specific levels. Help develop category growth goals, stories and new item presentations, manage presentation and communication of important sell-in plans, develop compelling sales materials and occasionally influence customers on sales calls. Analyze results of programs, recommend and make adjustments. Achieve the Annual Plan: Manage brand-specific strategy to ensure delivery of the annual volume, trade, and profit plan (nationally, channel-specific, Joint Business Planning). Help with Joint Business Planning (JBP) Initiatives: Serve as liaison between Customer Sales and Brand Teams to help implement JBP customer programs. Provide Brand teams ongoing visibility to main JBP programs through a common process to include prioritization of customer-specific requests. Monitor Brand trends at the account level for performance intervention.
