Job Title: Assembler
Location: Lexington, Kentucky Class: II
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly POSITION OVERVIEW
Fabricates, assembles, installs sub-assemblies and rework products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads and interprets drawings, or cut sheets to determine sequence and methods of fabricating and assembling products.
Sets up and operates various powered and non-powered hand tools including but not limited to wrenches, sockets, screw guns, pop-riveters, routers, jig-saws, reciprocating saw, nail guns and staple guns.
Bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products.
Installs sub-assemblies in supportive framework according to drawings.
Inspects sub-assemblies and finished product for conformance to specifications.
Rework sub-assemblies and finished product as necessary.
Forward finished assembly or product to the next work area. Other duties may be assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education preferred and/or previous factory experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
