Department: 50115 Regional Non Enterprise Corporate - Athletic Trainers Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: various hours ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manages the administration, supervision and evaluation of employee performance for a team of athletic trainers. Uses preventative measures appropriately; provides standard immediate care procedures used in emergencies; clinical evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning for a team of athletic trainers. Employs appropriate assessment outcomes measures to determine effectiveness of the regional outreach program. Determines appropriate return to play of athletes and active population working together with athletic directors and athletic trainers. Coordinates the referrals to appropriate medical professionals to ensure optimal level of care. All duties and responsibilities performed under the supervision of a directing and supervising physician. Promotes safe and collaborative working environment for patients, employees and others who encounter Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine needs in the community (Athletic Director, Coaches, Parents). Performs in a clinical role as requested to deliver excellent patient care in the community and clinic setting. Responsible for the coordination of the operational aspects of orthopaedics & sports medicine which includes schedule and personnel management as well as college venue site logistics. Works collaboratively with the Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Team to ensure service excellence for all customers of the regional outreach program. Oversees the athletic trainer program and all functions related to the day-to-day management of program including relationship development. Communicates in a professional and timely manner with players, physicians, staff, families and all members of the healthcare team. Attends staff meetings, hospital in-services, and complete mandatory educational requirements. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited athletic training program. Experience as a Board of Certification (BOC) certified Athletic Trainer varies with each level (refer to addendums). Experience as an athletic trainer in a college setting. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: BOC certified and licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the State of applicable state. Completion of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider that includes CPR and AED training.
