Position Summary
The Custom Fabrication Technician is responsible for the custom fabrication, assembly, and inspection of precision plexiglass flight simulator screens. This role requires the ability to work from detailed drawings, maintain tight tolerances, and produce high-quality, custom-fit components that must assemble perfectly at the customer site. Candidates must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.

Duties & Accountabilities
  • Craft, fabricate, and custom-build plexiglass screen components, including cutting, sanding, polishing, and buffing to precise specifications.
  • Assemble framed screen systems according to detailed customer requirements and drawings.
  • Cut, assemble, and disassemble aluminum extrusions per drawings, customer requirements, and SOPs.
  • Monitor and maintain critical tolerances to ensure proper integration with mirrors, plexiglass panels, and other components.
  • Perform quality inspections at multiple stages of the assembly process; escalate concerns to the Team Lead or Plant Manager.
  • Complete and maintain all production documentation in accordance with customer and departmental requirements.
  • Perform testing procedures to validate part quality and fit.
  • Mix chemicals, apply FDA-approved coatings, operate saws, build shipping crates, and support other manufacturing areas as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation in compliance with 7S standards.
  • Actively promote workplace safety by identifying, preventing, and reporting hazards or injuries; participate in safety programs and investigations.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support business operations.
Qualifications
Experience in custom fabrication, such as:
  • Custom cabinetry
  • Construction trades
  • Auto body or collision repair
  • Precision manufacturing or prototyping
  • Proven ability to work with tight tolerances and detailed measurements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 5:00AM-3:30PM
Pay: $16.50 per hour depending on experience
