Position Highlights: Position: Lab Assistant II Location: Northwest Community Hospital Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Hours: Monday-Friday, evenings-3pm-11:30pm, e/o week-end and rotating holidays. What you will need: License: Not applicable Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification: Not applicable Experience: Laboratory, medical, biological and data entry preferred. For Lab Assistant I candidates, demonstrated competency and proficiency in all Lab Assistant I job responsibilities. For external candidates, one (1) year of experience in a comparable healthcare setting Skills: Outgoing, compassionate personality. Good communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads. Able to be self-motivated and work independently and cooperatively as a strong team player. Moderate computer and excellent customer service skills. What you will do: Provide customer support to clients, including inpatient and outpatient departments. Specimen Triage including prioritizing specimens received into the laboratory, document issues with samples that may impact specimens and evaluate specimen(s) integrity. Process Laboratory Specimens including Reference Lab samples. Data Entry and Analysis, including test ordering into laboratory information system. Maintenance, Supply Management/Data Collection and Other including performing instrument checks, supply management, assist in the management of supplies, collecting and/or maintaining department statistics and assist in the onboarding of new staff. Technical Support performing basic/routine maintenance, loading specimens onto instrumentation, prepare samples for testing, tracking samples to other labs, perform necessary disinfection of work areas.
