Building Location: Building B - St Marys Medical Center Department: 2005650 EMERGENCY SERVICES BEHAV HLTH - SMMC HOSP Job Description: Assists with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of selected technical aspects of patient care in the Adult and Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit, under the direct supervision of the Charge RN, Assistant Head Nurse, Nurse Manager and/or the Director, to meet the requirements of the Joint Commision and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory or accrediting agencies as well as meeting the goals and mission of the Behavioral Health Department and the Medical Center. Position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. Education Qualifications: Duluth Main Campus (only): 1 year experience in working with persons with mental health symptoms or related applicable experience OR Degree in social services related field OR Certified Peer Support Specialist in Minnesota or Wisconsin. Preferred Qualifications: Duluth Main Campus (only): Completed psychology courses Licensure/Certification Qualifications: East Market : In accordance with Minnesota Rules 9530.6450 Subpart 1-B; all employees must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact. Chemical use problems are defined as: Receiving treatment for chemical use within the period specified for the position in the staff qualification requirements. Chemical use that has a negative impact on the staff member's job performance; Chemical use that affects the credibility of treatment services with clients, referral sources, or other members of the community; and Symptoms of intoxication or withdrawal on the job.
