Head of Fabrication Responsibilities Responsible for the overall management of the Production Unit Sheetmetal, including staffing, production planning, department budget, SYNCHRO (internal process improvement system) and digitization activities. Forecast, plan and manage departmental requirements regarding staffing, training, equipment, capacity, and resources. Plan and review production schedules based on order income and forecast, and take necessary action to meet production requirements. Manage interaction and relations with suppliers and (internal) customers, interface with other departments to ensure overall TRUMPF Inc. performance. Develop and manage department vision, goals and strategy in alignment with company targets. Develop, monitor, and report key figures (key performance indicators) for the department, communicate results to team and senior management. Implement necessary actions and programs to ensure satisfactory performance. Responsible for short-, mid- and long-term department development. Create or revise standards and programs for operational procedures, organizational structure, working practices, SYNCHRO (internal process improvement system) improvements and process digitization. Develop budget and monitor spending for the most cost-efficient operation. Follow personnel management and development according to TRUMPF’s policies and principles. Oversee the integrated quality control process in cooperation with Quality department: quality of products and troubleshooting of specific quality problems. Responsible for management of safety related topics in cooperation with Sustainable Management & Safety department. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering. Four years as process or mechanical engineer or related that includes the following (may be before/during/after education): Manufacturing, CNC machine technology and industrial robots; Review of documentation and drawings; Project management and process improvement oversight and implementation; Product introduction and CNC programming; Root cause analysis; Use of SAP (or comparable ERP) application.
