Posting Close Date: August 11, 2023 The Opportunity The position will provide paralegal, administrative and organizational support to TC Energy’s U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines legal department including the Commercial and Regulatory Law Group, Environment Group, and the Land and Projects Law Group, and will report to either the Vice President or Director of U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines Law. It will require a working knowledge of law office management administration, principles, methods and procedures as well as a demonstrated ability to perform law related tasks ranging from routine administrative duties to more complex efforts calling for professional judgment and the ability to exercise independent initiative. What you'll do Builds positive relationships within Executive management, outside directors, and administrative staff as necessary to perform duties and to achieve results. Manage various electronic databases, such as matter management, document management, e-discovery, Sharepoint, Workday and SAP systems, and answer questions related thereto Assist various Legal, Commercial and Operations teams with documents related to FERC filings, litigation, compliance and other agreements, including commercial, confidentiality and vendor agreements Manage workflow of agreements and time critical filings Produces information by transcribing, proofreading, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics Ensures written materials prepared and reviewed are complete, concise, and error-free Ensures that legal files and records are maintained in accordance with department requirements and company policies and procedures. Investigating and fact-finding for cases Assisting in preparing legal documents such as legal arguments, motions, contracts and agreements Organizing, indexing and tracking files Analyzing and organizing information to produce reports Providing administrative support for attorneys The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands. Minimum Qualifications Associates degree with paralegal certification. Minimum six years of relevant legal experience,* preferably with litigation, FERC filings and docket management as well as environmental and regulatory practice areas, or some combination thereof is required. Must have extensive experience and acumen to plan and accomplish goals Strong research skills and an understanding of pipeline safety laws, advisories and guidance for natural gas pipelines and storage. Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university Ability to work independently with little supervision Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to work with all levels of management and employees Strong and effective organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude, with a high degree of confidentiality Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines Proficiency working with Ascent, iManage, Legal Holdpro, DocuSign Software desired Proficiency in MS Office Software and the ability to learn and acquire expertise in new software and applications Ability to work under pressure and to maintain efficiency and composure Commitment to participatory management and a strong service orientation Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to establish and maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with a variety of other support and departments.
