Supervising all mining operations, changing methods and operations as necessary to ensure adequate supplies of crude ore are available for processing plants. 2. Evaluates the use of mine labor, equipment, and materials to achieve efficient and best cost operations. 3. Directs all departmental operations in such a manner that all projects are completed in a timely manner, employees are managed effectively and fairly, and all records are maintained accurately. 4. Twenty-four hour responsibility for all mining operations, equipment, employee safety, and issues affecting the mining operation. 5. Develops and implements short and long term mine plans, including equipment recommendation, selection and procurement to achieve production and cost goals. 6. Develops departmental budgets and tracks actual vs budgetary goals. 7. Participate in the development and installation of capital projects, including both mining equipment and crude ore handling facilities. 8. Maintaining ISO certification through procedures and audits. 9. Responsible for counseling, hiring and terminating employees as needed. 10. Responsible for securing and managing vendor relationships for mining equipment maintenance and repair, drilling and blasting services (if necessary), and miscellaneous support materials. Meet with vendors/contractors as necessary to handle vendor issues. 11. Promote safety consciousness, good housekeeping and maintain a safe work environment. Direct departmental safety initiatives. 12. Provide necessary inputs to the strategic planning and total facility budget process for the Marble Hill Operations. Trouble shooting mine problems as they arise. 13. Monitor and insure environmental compliance for the mining operation. 14. Participate in Management and Employee Communication Meetings as required.
