Family Medicine / Hospitalist (Split-Position)

PRACTICE SPECIFICS – On the Outpatient Side (roughly half-time)

• Our ideal candidate would be a flexible team player, looking to maintain a mix of both outpatient and inpatient medicine.

• On the Outpatient side

  • Roughly 8 days of clinic, spread over 3 weeks

  • Broad Primary Care Practice

  • Multispecialty Clinic with support from specialists and ancillary services

  • Clinic site has 5 Family Physicians

  • No OB, but prenatal care is an option

  • Telephone call 1:26, peds call only

  • 16-22 patients per day

  • This position is to prepare for anticipated retirements

• On the Inpatient side

  • Half-time Hospitalists work 1, 7-on shift, per month.

  • Day shift, only

  • Partner with existing Hospitalist Program of both full and half-time providers.

  • Schedule – 12 hours shifts with 2-3 weeks of nights; rest of the shifts are days.

  • Hospitalists will cover ICU, with consultative intensivist support.

  • Total number of physicians in specialty currently in department at practice site: 7.  The practice is fully staffed with 8-9 hospitalists.

  • Average inpatient practice volume per day: Med Surg-71 / ICU-10; divided between 3-4 rounding hospitalist, who also share admissions.  Average daily census on unit: 50-60

REQUIREMENTS

• Board Certified/Board Eligible - Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

• Current ACLS

LOCATION

• Brainerd, MN – located at the center of Minnesota

• 125 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul

• Brainerd Lakes Area population: 65,000; Regional service area: 115,000

COMPENSATION

• $300,317 - $337,000.  Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation.
