Number of Openings 0 Time Type Full time Job Description Mechanical Planning Supervisor Job Summary: Responsible for planning tasks, projects, and day-to-day activities, including work orders for simple projects, which may include both short- and long-cycle work. This position reports to the Planning Superintendent. The Primary Responsibilities 1. Supervises Maintenance Planners for scheduled and emergent work for both On-line and Outage conditions. Ensure that all assigned activities are performed effectively and efficiently in accordance with plant procedures and local, state and federal regulations. Inputs to performance reviews for assigned planners. Provide development opportunities and coaching for responsible planners to drive individual and department improvement. Interface with Work Management, Supply, and Engineering to identify and resolve work package issues. 2. Input to the Maintenance Planning Manager improvement areas, perform internal trending of performance of responsible planners, perform required CAP products and provide coaching / counselling to respective planners when required. 3. Review work packages for quality and readiness as required. Verify work instructions are adequate and comply with all applicable station procedures. 4. Prepare / Revise work instructions as required that provide direction to the Maintenance Department for maintenance repairs, performance of preventive maintenance and surveillances, and the implementation of modifications. Coordinates with other groups (e.g., Design/ Engineering and Supply Chain) on job scope, work packages, job prerequisites, and material. 5. Provide technical input to maintenance planning and technical group for preparation of work packages. 6. Ensure maintenance planning activities are properly documented and records are maintained, in accordance with work control and maintenance processes. 7. Serves as a member of the Site Emergency Response Team, as required. Maintain qualifications for and participate in assigned Emergency Preparedness planning and program execution. 8. Establishes training requirements and qualification criteria for their planning group and assess the adequacy of the developed training program and provided training services through observation of job performance. 9. Supervises the execution of the Electrical, Mechanical or Instrument Maintenance Planning work schedule, remove impediments to work schedule completion, obtain additional resources, materials, support, etc., needed to accomplish schedule. Review work-in-progress and documentation to ensure work methods, craft skill, support, work order planning, and progress is adequate. Initiate immediate corrective action, direct schedule refinement as needed. 10. Assist the Planning Superintendent in succession planning and workforce planning. 11. Participate in the corrective action program specifically by initiation, development, and implementation of corrective actions 12. Represent the Planning Department in various site meetings. 13. Enforce Nuclear Department goals and expectations. Must live within 55 minutes from the plant and maintain a role in the Emergency Response Organization. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a nuclear power plant, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and testing a wide variety of equipment typical to nuclear power generating stations. Prior supervisory experience in planning and technical activities at a power facility preferred. Preferred Qualifications Should have a good knowledge of the systems within a power plant.
