Production Supervisor – Brunner Island Position Overview Responsible for the safe and effective conduct of operations, maintenance and modification, project management and work management activities at the plant. Provides process oversight, leadership, support, and direction to engineering, contractors, plant maintenance and plant operations personnel. This includes planning, direction, scheduling and management of outage and non-outage work management functions. The individual in this role also performs project management activities that ensure work is completed safely, effectively, efficiently, within budget, in compliance with plant and Company policies, and with safe engineering and work practices in mind. Importantly, works effectively with others across all disciplines and work groups to accomplish plant objectives. Primary Responsibilities Provide effective supervision, direction, and leadership to the plant maintenance and facilities staff. Develop and implement plant maintenance strategies for safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the power plant. Identify new O&M and Capital Projects. Resolve technical issues related to operation of the plant. Perform project management and duties for plant O&M and Capital projects. These duties include project coordination, contract administration, material tracking, scheduling, and cost monitoring. Perform day to day troubleshooting on equipment to support on time startups and reliable and efficient unit operation. Oversee and manage preventative and predictive maintenance activities. Ensure that activities are completed efficiently within the given budget constraints. Support plant safety, environmental, and operational goals through compliant plant operation and proper prioritization of the work management process. Schedule correct resources to support scheduled activities including O&M support, vendor support, and training. Utilize Asset Suite and other systems/tools to plan, implement, and track maintenance activities. Approve work orders, material orders and contracts. Basic Qualifications Minimum of 8 years’ power generation experience. Specifically, operations and maintenance of steam turbines and power generation boilers. Working knowledge of power plant maintenance, design safety and environmental compliance. Working knowledge of capital and O&M budget processes. Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading and managing the performance of hourly personnel. Knowledge of Talen Energy’s collective bargaining agreement with IBEW Local 1600.
