5678 Dance Inc is looking for a passionate, organized, and creative Musical Theatre Assistant Director to join our growing team! We offer musical theatre and dance enrichment programs to children across Broward and Palm Beach Counties, and we are currently seeking someone to support our directors with rehearsals and productions.

This role is perfect for someone who loves working with kids, has a strong background in theatre, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Position Details:

• Role: Assistant Director – Children’s Musical Theatre Program
• Age Groups: 5–12 years
• Schedule: Weekday afternoons (generally between 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM)
• Location: Various schools and studio locations in Parkland, Coral Springs & Boynton Beach
• Season: September through June (School-year commitment required)
• Performances: All students perform in our annual musical theatre showcase

Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting the Director in all aspects of rehearsals and production
• Supporting students with lines, choreography, and staging
• Helping manage class behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
• Coordinating costumes, props, and performance details
• Providing general administrative and creative support throughout the season

Requirements:

• Experience in theatre and/or musical theatre (performance or directing)
• Experience working with children
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Energetic, reliable, and a team player
• Must have reliable transportation
• Background screening and fingerprinting required by the County
