Job Description: GENERAL SUMMARY This position oversees design, implementation and coordination of safety and health systems that focus to eliminate unsafe work practices, health risks, detect unsafe acts and conditions thus generating corrective action to reduce or eliminate them. It is also responsible for the site environmental management system, through the application of environmental administration strategies such as natural resources consumption reduction and waste management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES Coordinate and perform risk analysis (Job Hazard Risk Assessments) for all equipment and activities performed in the plant. Develop HS&E procedures as required to provide specific instructions to prevent accidents. Is also responsible to maintain the HSEMS ISO 14001/45001 acting as its HS&E Management Representative. This includes following up on the closure of corrective actions, derived from both external and internal audits, associated with the safety, health, and environmental management systems. Monitor the sharing of HS&E information provided to employees through operations leaders, such as: safety alerts, safety talks and information pertinent to the safety, health, and environmental management systems. Monitor and implement the programs and operational controls necessary to comply with the legal provisions applicable to the workplace in terms of safety, health, and the environment. Implement the programs and operational controls necessary to meet corporate safety requirements (critical safety programs) of the company. Follow up HS&E training at all levels in the plant. Coordinates security and medical contractors’ activities. This position leads all accident investigation completing the corporate HSMS reports and integrating the local work team to complete the 8D or 3Legged, 5Why´s report, participate in the employee return to work assessment after an accident has occurred, post LDI cases on the internet, support plant manager in the 24 hrs LD notification. Organize the emergency teams and planning drills as required. This position also overseas all contractors that perform activities in the facility in order assure the HS&E procedures and safety rules will be followed by them, any time and including visits. Responsible to attend all regulatory visits regarding HS&E matters including preparation and sending of legal documentation required by government agencies. This position is also responsible to update as required the HSE systems posted in the Cooper Standard Website. This position participates with APQP team. Also involving in the lean workshops providing HS&E training ergonomics and / or acting as team member. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE Obtained bachelor’s degree. English language proficiency. Experience in automotive company’s desire (five years). Knowledge in ISO 14001 Knowledge in legal authority standard Mexican applicable legislation on safety, health, and environment issues in workplaces. (SEMARNAT, STPS, SSA, SE, SCT, etc.) Develop hazard and risk identification analysis using FMEA methodology. Specific emergency response processes (spills, firefighting, evacuation, search, and rescue). Engineering and operational controls for high-risk jobs (work at heights, cutting and welding, confined spaces, electrical work. Incident and accident investigation performing applying root cause detection analysis tools. Basic knowledge on industrial safety engineering (safety guards, electrical safety, locking of hazardous energy, ergonomics, and civil protection). Knowledge on environmental, health and safety management systems (ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018). Urban and hazardous waste management processes (hazardous and no hazardous waste classification by CRETIB criteria).
