Job Description:
Looking for a full-time truck and heavy equipment mechanic for our Highway division to work on semi-trucks and heavy construction equipment. Perform a range of preventative maintenance procedures including oil, filter, brake assemblies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and more. Typically, major heavy-duty work is outsourced. Responsible for completing service record paperwork, order parts, research solutions, and updating systems for maintenance reminders. This position will report to the divisional operations manager and will be based in our Ogden, Utah shop.
Responsibilities:
- Service and repair various problems fleet trucks
- Diagnose, repair and maintain various hydraulic & electrical equipment, power units, generators, fabrication issues, and small equip repairs, and more.
- Address day to day breakdowns as well as scheduled maintenance
- Perform multi-point vehicle inspections including DOT
- Complete service record paperwork, order parts, research solutions, and update maintenance systems.
- Timely complete work orders with accuracy and detail
- Able to travel as needed
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years as a mechanic
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Heavy truck repair & maintenance experience
- Must have own tools or the ability to acquire tools
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. or more on occasion
- Ability for data entry on a PC/tablet
- Ability to follow processes, be organized, and responsible
- Be self-motivated and punctual
