What are the responsibilities and job description for the LANDSCAPE SUPERVISOR position at A Safe Haven Foundation?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be punctual to work, when scheduled.
Saturday work hours may be required.
Direct activities of workers who perform duties such as mowing turf, mulching, weed, trash removal, tree/shrub installation and pruning.
Monitor project activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained.
Manage inventory of tools, equipment, or materials to ensure that sufficient supplies are available.
Ensure all equipment is maintained and in usable condition.
Train, motivate, develop, and direct team as they work.
Evaluate each team member to provide career development feedback.
Monitor/assess performance of others and/or organization to make improvements or take corrective action.
Transport crew members to different job sites in assigned vehicles.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

To perform the job successfully, applicants should demonstrate the following skills:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Monitoring of team members to ensure work quality.
Ability to maintain composure in difficult and complex situations.
Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others.
Ability to observe safety and security procedures.
Ability to use equipment and materials properly (i.e., lawn mowers, cutting tools, chain saw).
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in weather extremes from sub-zero to 100 degrees, snow and rain.
Ability to work 8 or more hours a daily.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience	High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. 3 years’ experience in Landscaping.
Certificates/Licenses	Valid State of Illinois drivers’ license.
