Salary Range: $20.25 - $24.25 Hourly
Clinic Clerk
The Clinic Clerk is responsible for assisting with daily administrative and clerical functions of AACI Health Clinic. Duties include check-out desk reception, medical records, preparations for medical appointments.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Compile verifie, and file medical records.
- Prepare medical record of appointed patient, review records for completeness, assemble in standard order, and file records according to the designated system.
- Retrieve data, assist with coding of records, post test results to medical records and deliver to designated provider.
- Provide clerical support in the clinic, including filing, word processing, copying, faxing, data entry, and mail delivery.
- Perform patient relations duties such as scheduling appointments, preparing insurance and other forms, requesting medical records, and obtaining accurate patient information.
- Manage incoming calls, including providing callers with general agency information and route calls to appropriate persons.
- Greet visitors and clients and notify the appropriate staff person as necessary.
- Safeguard and respect the patient’s rights and confidentiality.
- Complete other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two years or more of medical records administrative support experience or equivalent education and training.
- Medical office experience required.
- Epic EHR software experience highly desired.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to demonstrate working knowledge and understand HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic office operations such as fax, phones, and filing.
- Knowledge and experience with Epic EHR preferred.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Bilingual in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, desired but not required.
- Ability to use independent judgment within established guidelines.
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments.
- Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural, professional, and experiential backgrounds.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Working conditions
- Work is performed in a standard health clinic setting. Basic safety precautions and the use of protective clothing or gear are required.
