What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Technician position at AAH?
Immediate openings for full time experienced Vet Assistant or RVT. Job will be at a 1 Doctor, small animal progressive practice that involves day shifts only . Must be able to work all shifts as assigned.
We are searching for the right candidate to demonstrate compassion and care for our client's animals and to effectively communicate with Team Leaders, staff members and clients. Must be able to multi-task, work well with others, and be self motivated.
Responsibilities include but not limited to: assist in surgery and recovery; Monitoring health of animals; administrating medications ;getting TPR's with medical history ; bandaging; IV catheter placement; phlebotomy and running of lab equipment ;fecal testing and urinalysis.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills both with clients and team members and must be able to multi-task while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent ability to read dog behavior . Ability to be efficient, driven , reliable and self motivated is essential. Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist the lifting of dogs over 100 lbs is required.
