What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at ABCO Automation Inc?
The quality manager is responsible for engaging with the organization to drive fulfilment of quality standards consistent with customer requirements, corporate standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements. This role will develop, apply, revise and maintaining quality standards; lead internal, customer and supplier audits; support ISO-9001 accreditation requirements; and own the corrective and preventive action process. They will also have a leading role in addressing PPAP, MSA, FMEA and control plan efforts.
Major Accountabilities:
- Coordinates activities throughout the organization on all matters relating to quality systems, documentation, procedures, direction, processes.
- Ensures quality management system requirements are being met and actively works to further develop and improve the quality management system. Facilitates annual quality systems review.
- Maintains relevant documentation to comply with quality system standards, accreditation requirements, and customer requirements.
- Develops and coordinates corrective action procedures, plans, and follow-through. Regularly facilitates and/or lead investigation and corrective action.
- Develops quality assurance programs for new or modified products/processes. Support advanced product quality planning activities including activities such as leading PPAP efforts, FMEA analysis and control plan development.
- Reviews and evaluates the adequacy of existing process control plans and provides support to ensure conformance to requirements, including internal audits.
- Organizes and directs interaction of all customer complaints to provide ongoing communication, with timely involvement, review, and action to address issues.
- Represents company during customer, supplier, and accreditation audits.
- Owns process for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data. Identifies quality performance, trends while coordinating with customers and suppliers.
- 10. Supports enhancing products and processes using continuous improvement and principles and techniques.
Minimum Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field. Advanced degree a plus.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or ability to become certified within 6 months of hire.
Minimum Years of Experience Required:
- Minimum 10 years' experience in quality engineer and/or management in a manufacturing environment.
