Job Summary
Dynamic small firm seeking an ambitious and driven paralegal with a minimum of 5 years’ true litigation paralegal experience. This is a great opportunity for someone to step into the role of assisting and learning from an experienced litigation attorney how to strategize, organize, and present complex and interesting cases. This position is full-time; and your primary responsibility will be managing commercial litigation and real estate litigation matters, as well as some negligence (personal injury) and/or workers’ compensation matters.
Applicants must be able to think and work independently.
Applicants should have strong communication, writing organizational and computer skills. Applicants should also have strong time-management skills and be able to handle multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines at the same time. Must be familiar working in New Jersey state courts. Significant experience with complex electronic filing (e-courts) is required. Experience with MS Office is a must, specifically, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
This role will require assisting with drafting and preparation of pleadings, legal briefs, voluminous discovery requests and responses, document productions, exhibits, and all aspects of motion practice. Legal Research skills a plus.
Professional manner, diligence, ability to work well with others is required as we are a small office. This position requires the ability to assume responsibility and be self-motivated. This position is best suited for someone who enjoys having independent responsibility, learning, and being challenged with taking on additional responsibilities, as needed. Competitive compensation based on experience.
Paralegal Degree required. True paralegal experience required.
