What are the responsibilities and job description for the Used Parts Runner position at Abilene Machine LLC?
This position is responsible for receiving requests for used parts from Sales staff and procurement of those parts for the customer when available.
Level of Authority:
Performs routine duties independently in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in an industrial, non-climate controlled environment or outdoors. The candidate could be exposed to various types of weather.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Procures used parts from inventory for delivery to customer.
- Troubleshoot used parts problems; make recommendations ,and recommend substitutions
- Works with Sales on ‘Lost sales”
- Works with Teardown department on scheduling.
- Follow up on tickets for timely scheduling and shipment of used parts.
- Identifies and locates used parts by make and model.
- Must have the ability to work with the shipping department for insuring timely shipment of used parts.
Qualifications and Capabilities:
Technical
- 2-4 years mechanical experience.
- 2-4 years of agriculture tractor experience preferred.
- Must be able to successfully complete our in house forklift training program.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, bend, stoop, and/or reach. Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently (Level 4 Heavy Work).
- Physically capable of operating a forklift.
- Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment functional capacity test.
Other
- Able to work alone or with minimal supervision.
- Ability to exhibit good judgment and adaptable to different situations.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, patiently and courteously.
- Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions at once and to work positively and effectively within a team or self-directed.
Use of Tools:
Ability to use powered equipment, and hand tools, hoist, and heavy equipment.
