Looking for a team players, with compassion and a desire to help others. The direct care worker is responsible for providing for care to individuals with intellectual disabilities/autism who reside in a group home. Assist the individuals with activities of daily living, i.e. meal preparation, administration of medication, bathing/showering assistance, house cleaning. Transportation to community activities, day habilitation sites, and medical appointments is required. This position also provides for attendance at sporting events, concerts, fairs, and rodeos and things begin to open up. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Must be physically able to handle aggressive clients. Must be able to handle fragile individuals.
Skills: Must be able to read and write. Must be comfortable using a computer. Driving is required, so must have a driver's license. A criminal background check is required.
Schedules may vary, but typically start at 2:30 for the evening shift and 10pm for the night shift. Weekend shifts are from 9a-10p. This is a PRN position, NOT a regular schedule. You may be contacted at short notice.
Group homes are located in Fort Bend County.
