What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Youth Job Coach position at Ability Works Inc?
Join our Community Employment Team today! Ability Works, Inc. is looking to hire summer Job Coaches for our Summer Youth Work Experience Program. This is a seasonal position and can be very rewarding! We are currently looking for people to work with Transition Students in Huron/Erie/Ottawa/Lorain/Sandusky Counties. You can choose which county you would prefer to work in, mileage reimbursement & paid travel time when transporting students is also available. You can work between 17-30 hours per week.
This position requires good communication skills and the ability to teach Transition Students with disabilities - through on the job training at various businesses in the counties we serve. Good written communicationskills, ability to document accurately, excellent computer skills, and the patienceand ability to teach individuals with disabilities.
Job Coaches are responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment while assisting an individual to transition into a work environment. Instruct participants in how to complete job tasks, develop natural and peer supports and adjust to their work setting until the participant can perform job tasks, independently, to the employer’s standards. You will assist with accessing them at the end of the session to determine whether they are job ready!
Pay is $17/hour, Sessions are 6/3-7/5/24 and 7/8-8/9/24, $500 bonus available after completing both sessions and for those who meet the required guidelines.
Minimum Qualification include:
- Must be 18 High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass and maintain all certification and or training required by DODD/OOD.
- CPR/AED Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current Proof of Auto Insurance
- Must be able to pass Criminal, OAC 5123:2-02-02, and Driving Background Checks
- Must be able to pass company physical
- Must be able to pass drug test
- Maintains dependable transportation

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 per week
