What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver position at Able Helpers Homecare?
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with special needs, including those with autism
- Assist with behavior management and implement strategies for positive reinforcement
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
- Support residents in daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care and progress
- Promote resident rights and advocate for their needs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, nurses, and therapists
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information
Requirements:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and related challenges
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed to assist residents with mobility
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for transporting residents as required
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Understanding of resident rights and commitment to upholding them
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
