Summary:
The Development Director will play a critical support role by managing routine communications with the oversight of an ARD team member, maintaining schedules of communications, assisting with donor relations, event management and execution, taking RSVPs, and ensuring data integrity across spreadsheets, database(s) and internal documents. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive individual with excellent written communication skills and an eye for detail. This person will be asked to travel to various events around the state. The ability to maintain consistent punctuality is critical to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Donor Communication
- Draft and send personalized thank-you notes and emails to all donors, acknowledging contributions across all clients on a monthly basis.
- Ensure timely and consistent follow-up with donors via calls, texts, and emails; maintain accurate records of communications.
Event Coordination & Execution
- Lead the planning, staffing, and execution of fundraising events from start to finish
- Create, compile, and distribute event materials, run-of-show documents, and briefing documents
- Maintain and manage RSVP tracking and follow-up communication
- Represent ARD at events professionally and welcoming
- Flexibility to travel on weekends or evenings when events occur outside standard business hours
- Must be able to transport necessary materials and light equipment to event locations
Administrative & Team Support
- Maintain and update team calendars for events, meetings, and deadlines
- Prepare and manage call time documents for various candidates and campaigns, including formatting call lists and tracking outreach
- Clean and organize internal spreadsheets to support finance, compliance, and development activities
- Provide general administrative support to the team as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1 – 2 years of experience in development, fundraising, political campaigns, or nonprofit administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and strong proofreading skills
- High level of comfort with Google Workspace and CRM or donor tracking tools
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to stick to deadlines
- Event planning and donor interface experience is strongly preferred
