Special Instructor (hiring for those certified for 3-5)
Abundant Life Family Services regularly entertains Early Intervention Special Instructor candidates for our school-based and community-based programs in Philadelphia County. A variety of schedules may be offered including both full-time and part-time hours if available.
ALFS values responding to the ever-changing needs of those we serve. We provide comprehensive services within a wide array of diverse settings which allows our team members experience within our Early Intervention preschool classrooms, community day cares, and private homes. Professionals at ALFS work in a team environment with other skilled professionals to share resources and continually learn new practices.
Early Intervention Special Instructor Qualifications:
1.Master's degree from an accredited college or university in early intervention, early childhood education, special education, child development or family studies.
2. Certified SI, need to provide teaching certificate, a valid Pennsylvania certificate for Grades PK-4 is qualified to teach all courses from PK (nursery/age three) through fourth grade (age nine).
3. Complete competencies as state mandated.
4. One year experience working directly with pre-school children, ages 3-5, or children with disabilities and their families.
Early Intervention Special Instructor Job Responsibilities:
1.Provide early intervention services consistent with professional standards.
2.Design the learning environment and activities to encourage the infant or toddler to acquire developmental skills, cognition and social skills. Work with family and caregivers to establish daily routines to increase learning.
3.Provide information and resources to families of a disabled child.
4.Provide families with corrective action and/or support to enhance child's ability to benefit from their educational environment.
5.Adhere to all federal, state and county guidelines for early intervention.
6.Participate in IEP/IFSP meetings as indicated.
7.Ensure all students are serviced in their least restrictive environment.
8.Plan and organize instruction in ways to maximize the child's learning.
9.Implement curriculum that encourages goal attainment as per the IEP/IFSP.
10.Understand the special needs of the child and advocate for the child with others.
11.Attend and participate in meetings as needed.
12.Maintain all documents as per county policy and document findings timely, accurately and adhering to all educational guidelines.
13.Complete billing and bill clients accurately and ethically for services rendered.
14.Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient records, correspondence as per HIPAA, Title 34, CFR Part 99, 300-576 and The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, CFR Part 303 IDE.
15.Maintain professional relationships with co-workers, clients and clients families.
