Academic Partnerships is growing! We are hiring a Solutions Architect who will play a key role in the design and development of technology solutions which lead the global phenomenon of online education and enables higher education to be more accessible to students around the world.
You will need to possess well-rounded technical acumen and be able to work effectively across multiple projects. You will implement and support new and existing features, as well as continually expand the capabilities of our technology solution, architecture, and support tooling. Agile experience and a proficiency in C# development with a passion for software development to produce superior results is required. You will work collaboratively to understand the dynamics of business processes and convert business requirements into performant, high quality software. You will contribute to our technology solution as we advance into an emergent technology and push the boundaries of software development techniques.

Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the establishment of an IT Architecture practice, and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology.
- Champions a structured approach to business application solutions.
- Assist in the development of a solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios for IT systems architecture.
- Assures solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions.
- Influences changes to standards when necessary.
- Assist in the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options for the business.
- Develops and executes solutions which further reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work.
- Responsible for developing new features and the maintenance and enhancements of existing functionality
- Works effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Maintains a broad knowledge of emergent trends in software development platforms, tools, methodologies and their underlying principles
- Designs and implements software required to complete user stories and defects
- Communicates effectively with team members and project leadership to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
- Ensures unit tests written for all new code
- Continually seeks opportunities to increase product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Provides application support by analyzing defects, replicating/fixing defects and providing root cause analysis for defects
- Troubleshoots and resolves functional and performance related issues
Qualifications Include:
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or MIS is required.
- Very proficient in all areas of Software Development and Agile Methodologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail regarding solutions design and architecture
- Ability to work under indirect supervision
- Broad understanding of information technology topics
- Effective interpersonal skills incorporating teamwork and team building ability
- Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
- Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities
- Technically creative and open-minded
- 10 years of experience using the .NET development environment, C# and .NET CORE is required.
- 10 years of experience of hands-on development with SQL Server 2008 and/or higher.
- 7 years of experience using CSS, JavaScript, with additional experience in JQuery, JQuery mobile, AJAX and HTML5 a big plus.
- 5 years of experience using a UI framework: Angular, React, or similar is required.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in building cloud-native solution using Azure
- Significant experience designing and building enterprise-class web-based business applications with low-latency, high performance and 24x7 environment.
- Experience with Microservices, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)
- Knowledge and experience with Design Patterns, Web/Windows based N-tier database applications and Automated Testing
- Knowledge and experience using IIS, SSL, and Web Security.
- Experience translating design mockups and prototypes into working application designs.
- Demonstrated passion for user experience design and improving usability
