Maintenance supervisor

Position Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing constant support to all maintenance leads and all maintenance crew, acting as a role model and teaching the department what is expected of them.

Responsibilities

• Following all safety rules and procedures and environmental standards applicable to our process and facility
• Possesses a strong mechanical aptitude and electrical aptitude applicable to a manufacturing environment and knowledge in building maintenance.
• Shows a desire to keep improving in skills and knowledge to help the department grow.
• Must utilize the CMS to its fullest to plan, prioritize, assign work to be done, maintain inventory, training records and p.m.’s.
• Works with Production Management to coordinate with machine repairs & perform the necessary work.
• Knowledgeable on rules and regulations of this industry.
• Constantly strives to improve equipment safety and workplace in general.
• Monitors parts inventory with the parts clerk to keep up to date.
• Supervise and inspect assigned work.
• Evaluates maintenance employees as required.
• Organizes trainings for the development of the department.
• Participate in the development of goals, budgets and objectives as well as policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in maintaining the maintenance budget; monitor expenditures; prepare cost estimates; submit justifications for parts and equipment.
• Evaluates the maintenance department : as a whole, per shift and individual level to better the function and progress.
