Location: New Rochelle, NY

Hours: M-F 5:45 am to 1:45 pm

Rate of Pay: $27.47

Overview Of Primary Responsibilities

The METRO engagement specialist is responsible for supporting all administrative functions at METRO as well as supporting program participants with the non-clinical portion of the intake and discharge processes, toxicology collection, scheduling and other data collection and reporting needs.

Primary Functions

  • Greets participants and visitors entering the program, helps direct them to the right staff person as appropriate, and notifies clinical staff when individuals needing to be seen arrive to the program.
  • Answers incoming phone calls and responds to inquiries as appropriate. Refers calls to appropriate staff member or takes messages.
  • Handles questions, needs and concerns of waiting participants. Alerts staff if someone appears ill or is otherwise presenting with a behavioral or other concern.
  • Provides orientation to the program and supports new participants with understanding and completing initial documentation, authorizations, insurance verification, and data entry into the electronic health record.
  • Collects toxicology from participants and supports clinical staff with tracking toxicology scheduling and results.
  • Administers and completes data entry for the National Outcome Measures assessments and other reporting tools as needed.
  • Supports clinical staff with appointment scheduling needs.
  • Supports program leadership with data entry, reporting, documentation, chart management, supply ordering, filing, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Supports program leadership with inputting data for admissions and discharges to OASAS' online date system in a timely manner.
  • Supports program leadership with maintaining compliance clinic-wide with regulatory and billing requirements and processes.
  • Supports program leadership with collecting and tracking payments from participants on self-pay.
  • Takes and organizes notes in staff meetings as assigned.
  • Other office and program related functions as needed

Qualifications And Attributes

  • Positive attitude and demeanor with an ability to engage individuals of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and needs.
  • Organized, solution-focused team player who supports a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Strong engagement, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills. Knowledge and experience with electronic health record documentation preferred.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelors degree required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • One year experience working in a healthcare, behavioral health, or social service environment preferred.
