Event Services Coordinator
Job Title: Event Service Coordinator (Part-time/Hourly)
Department: Guest Service
Reports To: Director of Events
Supervises: Guest Services
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Payrate: $22.00 to $25.00 depending on experience
SUMMARY: ASM Global /accesso ShoWare Center, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an immediate opening for a part time Event Services Coordinator at accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington. This position is responsible for the logistics, coordination, staffing, and execution of events at the facility.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILIES:
- Plan, service and oversee events through all stages of the event lifecycle
- Manage staffing requirements and develop schedules for the proper execution of the event.
- Request appropriate security, EMT, police, and other support as required.
- Prepare and distribute all necessary event documentation.
- Check public areas for correct seating setup, safety hazards and equipment setup prior to doors opening.
- Provide guidance and leadership for all event personnel.
- Manage the check-out, distribution, and return of uniforms, radios, ticket scanners, and any other facility-owned equipment.
- Respond to any guest escalation incidents including, but not limited to, injuries, ejections, and illnesses with a positive attitude and demeanor.
- Ensure event standards and procedures are followed with regards to tickets, entry, conduct, etc.
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Hire, train and develop event staff.
- Log and track all required information on appropriate forms, including but not limited to, incident reports, lost and found log, staffing sheets.
- Help to prepare event cost estimates and compile hours for event staff.
- Assist in event advancement and venue preparation regarding rentals, outside agencies, hospitality needs, etc.
- Create event diagrams, data sheets and forms.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and two (2) years related event experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as well as during normal business hours.
- Knowledge of event planning, venue logistics and crowd management procedures.
- Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs for duration of the event shift.
- May be exposed to adverse weather conditions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and Google Suite (Sheets, Forms).
- Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines while working independently.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
- Remain flexible and professional, and exercise proper action during high tension and stressful situations.
Employees are eligible to join our 401K after 1 year and 100 hours of service. Holidays worked are paid at time and a half. Sick Time is accrued at 1 hour for every 30 worked and can be used in 2-hour increments or more. Employees (and family) will be eligible for Medical, Dental & Vision benefits when completing 1560 hours in a 365-day time frame.
