Accurex Measurement has an opening for a Field Service Engineer based in Wichita, Kansas. Accurex provides high-precision 3D measurement systems for dimensional analysis and automated visual inspection systems for assembly validation to the most advanced manufacturing organizations in the aerospace, precision machinery, and automotive industries.
Accurex products are used in the following areas:
- Automated systems to measure and correct bending of aerospace and automotive tubing
- Vision systems to assist with proper location of components during assembly of aircraft subsystems and other large volume structures
- Gap and flush measurement equipment for aerospace and automotive industries
- Laser gauging systems for checking small profiles and complex shapes including edge dimensional control for precision machined components
- Handheld 3D systems for dimensional control of countersinks and installed aerospace fasteners
Our Field Service Engineers perform system installations, conduct customer training, provide technical support to existing customers, and work closely with the Sales team to identify and expand product applications.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- 2 years technical product support experience including the introduction of new products
- Strong computer skills and understanding of computer networks.
- Strong work ethic with proven success at working independently
- Evidence of strong communication skills
- Technical education or equivalent experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
You must be comfortable working with customers in a production operation as well as in a high-tech environment. There will be travel throughout North America. You will normally be home weekends but there is approximately 60% overnight travel during the week. Some weeks will exceed this amount and others will be less. A background in 3D metrology, industrial vision systems, automation, or related products is helpful but not necessary.
2 to 5 years hands-on experience plus some technical education is helpful to succeed in this position. The candidate must be comfortable solving problems in an engineering or manufacturing setting and be able to describe technical issues so that they are easily understood.
US citizenship or Permanent Residence Status (Green Card) is required for site visits to our customers who supply military equipment to the US Government. Candidate must also be able to travel to Canada and Mexico as needed. Canada requires criminal background checks including a clean driving record, (including no history of DWI or similar offenses) to enter the country.
