Position Overview
The
Director of Performance Management is an essential leader in our work toward
achieving consistently excellent results throughout our organization. The
Director of Performance Management will be responsible for collaborating
closely with the Chief Education Officer and Department of Student Achievement
to develop a comprehensive set of network and school level academic goals and deliver
corresponding data reports and visualizations. This key professional will also
collaborate closely with the network’s Senior Leadership Team to develop
comprehensive data dashboards aligned with Acero's strategic priorities, and
deliver reports to senior leadership, board leadership, and school leadership
on a monthly basis.
Core Responsibilities
· Develop
key performance indicators in concert with Acero Schools network and school
leaders to track progress for students, teachers, schools, centralized
departments, and systems.
· Provide
integration, tracking, and analysis of data regarding organizational functions
to improve effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
· Develop
and publish monthly data dashboards at the network, department, and school
level.
· Analyze
school and student performance trends at all levels to provide insight into
strengths and areas for improvement.
· Provide
focused school performance management reports for internal and external
requests (including funders, school districts, etc.).
· Design/develop
program evaluation and research systems/procedures.
· Consult
with staff on new projects to determine measures of success, milestones, etc.
· Conduct
research on school performance and program effectiveness for internal review.
· Oversee
the work of data analyst to ensure accurate and timely reports, effective
communication and consultation, and clean, well-maintained data systems.
· Develop
and deliver trainings to school and organization leaders to empower them to use
information and assessment systems more effectively.
· Provide
ongoing technical assistance and troubleshooting for school and organization
leaders and teacher leaders to ensure that any problems or questions are
resolved in a timely manner.
· Collaborate
with External Affairs team to provide information, charts, and other resources
to be shared with external stakeholders of Acero Schools.
· Other
duties or special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
· Education:
Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree (strongly preferred)
· Experience
managing comprehensive educational and operational data for a school system or
similarly situated organization
· Advanced
coursework or degree in statistical analysis (education statistics preferred)
· Experience
using statistical analysis software (SPSS), relational databases (SQL Server)
and/or reporting tools (Tableau, SharePoint, etc.)
· Outstanding
ability to work with others in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
· Capability
for self-directed work and excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
· Must
hold permanent residency in the United States (required)
The nature of the work requires an ability to
operate standard business office equipment, and the ability to communicate and
exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and
maintain work files. Physical demands include the ability to stand, bend, reach
high and low, stoop, and walk around the classroom 60% of the day. In addition,
candidates must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs. for short
periods of time, and walk up and down stairs several times a day.
Working Conditions
Majority of work performed in
a general office environment. Position requires availability for
extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job
duties. Also requires participation and attendance at
organization-sponsored events and meetings.
