Summer Day Camp Coordinator
Camp Cheerful, Strongsville
A day in the life of the Sensational Coordinator can look like:
- Creating a bond with every camper you meet and watching them grow and explore camp with their new friends!
- Assisting the students access all Camp Cheerful has to offer, including our on-site swimming pool, visits to the barn and our 11 horses, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and much more!
Camp Cheerful is a beautiful 52 acre facility that is part of the well-respected Achievement Centers for Children (ACC). Since 1940 ACC has been empowering children and adults with disabilities and their families to achieve their greatest potential. Located in the Mill Steam Run Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks in Strongsville, Ohio, Camp Cheerful provides campers all the traditional camp activities!
The Details:
- $600 stipend per week
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1 year supervisory experience preferred
- Set weekly work schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:00am-5:00pm.
- Coordinator Training week May 30th through June 2nd
- Staff Training week June 5th to June 9th
- Including CPR, First Aid and AED certification, Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification, lots of information about disabilities and abilities and how to be a GREAT summer camp counselor!
- Sensational ESY Camp runs June 13th through August 5th
- Campers are between the ages of 5 to 22 with and without disabilities
- We serve a wide range of disabilities including cognitive, physical, developmental and neurological.
- We provide a 1 counselor to 3 camper ratio
