Special Inspector

Achievement Engineering Corp. (Achieveng) is looking to hire a Lead SPECIAL INSPECTOR to join our team! We have an upcoming PREVAILING WAGE project located in Yountville, CA, so we are looking to hire a full-time/part-time Special Inspector to provide Special Inspections for this job, as well as the opportunity to stay on with us for future projects. If you meet / possess the following criteria - we want to hear from you!

The following Certifications are REQUIRED to be considered for this position:

• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1
• International Code Council (ICC) Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
• ICC Masonry Special Inspector

• Nuclear Gauge & Radiation Safety Training (with experience in Soil Sampling)

The following Certifications are PREFERRED, but not required to be considered for this position:

• American Welding Society – Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
• DSA Masonry Special Inspector

Any of the following additional certifications are desirable but not required:

• Any / all other ICC Special Inspector Certifications

• Any / all other ACI Certifications
• OSHA Safety Training

Additionally, the applicant must meet / possess the following qualifications:

• Minimum education of a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Available in/near the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
• A valid & clean Class C Driver License issued by the California DMV.
• The ability to read and interpret construction plans & specifications, and to enforce their applications.
• The ability to keep records & prepare reports.
• The ability to communicate clearly and concisely through oral methods, such as in-person and/or by telephone, & through written methods, such as via email.
• A comfortable proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel, and also Adobe Acrobat.
• Be able & open to learning & applying specific provisions of applicable codes, ordinances, & regulations mandated by appropriate jurisdictions.
• The ability to perform inspections by applying technical knowledge & following proper inspection techniques to examine workmanship and materials, as well as to detect deviations from plans, regulations, & standard construction practices.
• The ability to adapt to different working conditions (i.e. sitting, walking, in/outdoor settings, open/closed spaces, etc.).
• The ability to lift and/or carry a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Be able & open to establishing & maintaining good working relationships with company personnel & clients alike.
