What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Services Supervisor position at ACHR?
The Alabama Council on Human Relations (ACHR) seeks candidates for a Family Services Supervisor position to work directly under the Head Start Director to learn regulations of Head Start/Early Head Start.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Maintain caseload of no more than 15 families to be determined in collaboration with the Head Start Director and visit each center weekly to assist/support Family Engagement Advocates.
- Assist with planning, development, and implementation of Family Engagement programs.
- Coordinate and supervise social services related programs, specifically the Head Start Family Engagement Program.
- Establish, implement, and maintain systems that ensures compliance with Head Start policies, guidelines, rules and regulations including those for ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance).
- Monitor child applications to assure they meet the criteria in the ERSEA regulations.
- Work with Family Engagement staff to identify needs using Parent Family & Community Engagement Summary and ChildPlus Family Assessment tool.
- Manage and oversee Family Engagement staff meetings, goals and data, staff work and productivity, development of individual staff members, professional development plans, coordination of staff evaluations and continuous improvement of Family Engagement area and its services.
- Research projects and connect programs that could enhance family stability and self-sufficiency.
- Present ideas to Programs Coordinator for feedback and assistance with implementation.
Entry into the applicant pool requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or related field; at least five years of field experience in family and children's services. Experience with an organization involved in the delivery of similar services to clients with low-income is desired.
