What the role entails
- Pick material (by hand, forklift, or pallet jack) for orders by following picking slip provided by Distribution Office Personnel.
- Arrange material on pallets as necessary, and deliver picked orders to the packaging area. Strap, stretch wrap, bubble wrap or box shipment, as directed.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
- Prepare shipping labels and attach them to finished packages prior to shipment.
- Load trucks by matching bill of lading with material ready for shipping.
- Load material on trucks with forklift or pallet jack and complete all appropriate documentation, including pallet itemization sheets.
- Maintain clean, organized working, warehouse and yard areas, including trash removal, sweeping and snow removal (for East Locations).
- Complete daily maintenance checklist for forklift, as assigned.
- Serve as back-up for Receiving Department. Be able to unload trucks and count stock.
- Follow Company policies and procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and talk or hear.
- Frequently lift and/or move a minimum of 75 pounds and a maximum of 100 pounds.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Certified Forklift Operator
$18 per hour
Salary : $18
