Job Title: Animal Care Technician

Job Description

As an Animal Care Technician, you will be responsible for operating mechanical cage washing equipment, autoclaves, and other sanitizing tools. You will place processed bedding, feed, and related items into sanitized cages and maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, detergent and disinfectant use, and performance tests for cage washers and autoclaves. Ensuring adequate levels of cage wash chemicals is also part of your role. Additionally, you will perform daily animal health observations and husbandry duties to maintain the quality and health of research animals. This includes performing daily water bottle and automatic water line checks, providing appropriate food and water, and conducting cage changing and/or cleaning as required by SOPs and specified protocols.

This position requires the candidate to be comfortable disposing of deceased animals, and general cleaning of the facility.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Baltimore, Maryland.

Work Environment

Animal Research Lab, 1st shift openings from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You must be okay with weekend work when needed.
