Bridge Engineer Leadership Opportunity - Ohio
Description:
Seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer to lead our growing Bridge Engineering Group within the Transportation business unit. There is currently a backlog of work and it is expanding our Ohio presence. In addition to providing management and technical leadership to our Ohio bridge projects, this position requires client interaction and business development strategy for specific project opportunities. The successful candidate should also anticipate interaction and involvement with other regional projects in Indiana, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Remote and/or hybrid work (home or office) schedules are viable options.
Responsibilities:
-Design and prepare plans, calculations, and specifications for transportation structures, including highway bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, and other miscellaneous structures per AASHTO and ODOT requirements.
-Provide analysis and load rating for existing structures and recommend improvement and strengthening strategies through knowledge and application of appropriate specifications, standards, and design criteria,
-Collaborate with other professionals from various departments and disciplines and discuss requirements with clients to execute projects.
-Perform work as part of a team or as a task/project manager, in accordance with the project budget and schedule limitations under moderate supervision.
-Prepare engineering cost estimates, the scope of work documents, and proposals and assist other Project/Task Managers with similar duties.
-Provide leadership and technical guidance to the project team to ensure quality technical services.
-Monitor and enforce compliance with quality control standards and client requirements.
-Participate in occasional site visits in construction sites and remote outdoor work environments.
-Occasional travel to client meetings and site visits with possible overnight stays.
Skills:
bridge design, PE, PE License, civil engineering, MicroStation, geopak, AutoCAD, structural engineering, bridge engineering
Skills & Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. A Master of Science in Structures is preferred.
-Registered PE in Ohio.
-Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills.
-Experience with ODOT and OTIC standards, specifications, and design manuals.
-Experience with structural analysis and design programs for bridge design.
-Experience in MicroStation GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads, AutoCAD, etc.
