What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer Analyst position at Actalent?
Description:
**This position will not be buying but only supporting Buyers in a data analyst role, providing market data, documentation, and analytics. There are two positions.
One position will be responsible for tactical execution of tasks including issuing quotations to suppliers as agreed with Category Buyers; monthly / quarterly price adjustments; supplier set-up; supplier on-boarding documentation including due diligence; tool order issuance to enable Buyers to focus on strategic sourcing, delivering competitive pricing, and cost reduction.
Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by local management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific (HIAMS)AM site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):
• Supports all business objectives of the company by aligning Purchasing activities with the organizational goals and objectives.
• Represent the company with assigned customers.
• Responsible for maintaining customer / supplier relationships and understanding expectations.
• Within the scope of their position, manage and track open issues. Drive open issues to closure through tracking, delegation, and escalation.
• Plan program activities and develop master timing schedules that meet program objectives.
• Lead the assigned program(s)’ activities for continuous future development, growth and improvement of the program, department and company.
• Within the scope of responsibility, ensure customer satisfaction feasibility and design specifications and keep record of customer design changes (drawing level verification).
Second position will be responsible for supporting Buyers and PCL group for launch of new site in Talaposa, GA. This person will sit in Harrodsburg, KY with direct oversight from the local KY team interacting with local PCL team as well as buyer Greg Karch (sits in Greenfield, IN). Category team will draft contracts and this person will enter purchase order requisitions, process prototype orders, provide buyer communication/updates. Once quarter this position may travel to GA facility with team for updates.
