What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Pharmacy Technician position at Actalent?
Description:
These Technicians are reviewing Prior Authorizations for determination for a Pharmacy Services department a part of a large healthcare insurance company. Must either approve or deny and then send them to a Pharmacists for final review. Handling all health plans, and all types of medications.
- Process prescription exceptions which may include: resolving claim rejects and member and physician outreach.
- Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system.
- Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and/or escalated member issues.
- Escalate questions regarding prescription to a Pharmacist for interpretation or provide direction on processing.
- Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma.
- Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by state of operation.
- Basic computer skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be a Nationally Certified Technician and registered pharmacy technician in the state they live.
- Must have a HS Diploma/GED
- Must have strong computers skills. Will not be on the phones.
