What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemist position at Actalent?
Description:
• Contribute to team highly engaged in all aspects of battery material research.
• Participate in the complete process of battery material synthesis, characterization, processing material into coin cells, and then testing for electrochemical performance.
• Synthesize battery materials using crystallization reactors in Batch mode, CSTR mode, and Taylor Flow conditions.
• Develop skills in battery material characterization, including optical microscopy, ICP, Particle Size Analysis, Surface Area analysis.
• Create coin cells using in-house battery material.
• Develop skills using sintering ovens, glove boxes, mixers, film coaters, and calendaring machines.
• Supervise two lab technologists in these activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science.
• The candidate should already be familiar with a chemistry lab environment, including safety.

This is a fully on-site position in Dearborn, Michigan.
