Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• All Chemical Technician II duties - see job description for additional information
• Plans, performs and completes projects under direct supervision
• Method performance • Method transfer • Method development
• Method feasibility • Method validation
• Demonstrates proficiency in setting up, adjusting, operating and calibrating laboratory equipment and instruments – may include some of the following, but not limited to the following:
• HPLC, GC, Dissolution, Disintegration, IC, TLC, Titration, Specific Rotation, KF, FT-IR, LOD, Friability, UV/Vis, ICP, MS, CVAA
• Independently performs lab tests to determine physical and chemical characteristics
• Performs data analysis
• May begin doing some technical assessment
• Knowledgeable in use of data acquisition software and instrument operating software (e.g. Turbochrom, Cerity, WinLab)
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, procedures and regulations
• Works under general supervision
• Primary job functions requires a certain degree of independence and judgement
• Relies on limited experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry, demonstrated through
• BA/BS Chemistry, Biology or related scientific degree preferred
• 1-4 years of related industry experience in an analytical laboratory
• Knowledge of laboratory safety precautions and protocols for safe handling and the disposal of hazardous agents/reagents, chemicals and materials
• Organization, communication and analytical skills
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate technical and business information, both oral and written to others, including co-workers, supervisors, subordinates, clients, and vendors
• Intermediate mathematical skills, including: algebraic functions, statistics (mean, median, standard deviation, variance, probability), basic geometry (area, volume calculations), and scientific calculators
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to work varied and extended hours/days, as business dictates
