Job Title: Civil Engineer

Job Description

Preparation of civil engineering designs for permit and construction. General site planning including civil engineering land development, MD State Highway Administration roadway design projects, residential and commercial site design, storm water management design, storm drain design, water and sewer design, and sediment and erosion control plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering designs for permits and construction.
• Conduct general site planning including land development, MD State Highway Administration roadway design projects, and residential and commercial site design.
• Design storm water management, storm drain, water and sewer systems, and sediment and erosion control plans.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for design tasks.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• At least 2-4 years of relevant land development engineering experience.
• High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• PE or the ability to become licensed within one year is a plus.
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
• Experience with Microstation v8 and Power In-Roads is a plus.
• At least 3 years working with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, particularly on residential projects.
• Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment

Design work will be performed in an office environment with no field work required. The design team consists of two Professional Engineers, one Environmental Engineer, and one CAD Technician. The company has over 150 employees, with only 12 working in the office. The company offers a flexible remote schedule allowing two days to work from home. Additionally, they provide a 6% match on 401k and an end-of-year bonus based on revenue.
