Description:
Seeking an ICC special inspector with 2 years of experience and a reinforced concrete certification . Ideal candidates will have prior experience for a geotechnical engineering or materials testing company. Perform testing, inspection, and field observations during construction.
- Perform testing on materials including, soils, reinforcing steel, concrete, masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, metal decking, roofing and asphalt paving
-Inspect and review construction sites for compliance
-Coordinate and interact with contractors in field
- Write Daily Field Reports documenting work performed by the various contractors and indicating compliance/non-compliance with contract documents
- Coordinate with the department manager about progress of projects.
-Ability to lift up to 50lbs to transport material samples, and move nuclear densometer.
-Will be expected to carry nuclear densometer (25lbs) short distances.
-ACI OR ICC cert
-Experience with reinforced concrete preferred

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
2 years experience in construction inspection.
Experience with 1 of the following:
- Concrete testing,
- reinforced concrete.
- OBOA or WABO certification or able to get it within a few months.
- Nuclear Density Gauge training and certification a plus
- valid driver's license
Must have 1 of the following certificates:
- American Concrete Institute (ACI)
- Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I
-Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
OR ONE of the following ICC Certifications
• Reinforced Concrete
• Structural Masonry
• Pre-stressed/Post-tensioned Concrete
• Structural Steel Bolting
• Structural Steel Welding
OR one of the following: AWS-CWI Welding with construction inspection experience A PLUS
OBOA (Oregon Building Officials Association), WABO (WA Association of Building Officials), ODOT Certifications A PLUS
