What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at Actalent?
Description:
• Perform construction observation and documentation (travel expected), including construction material sample collection, laboratory data management and surveying, while ensuring compliance with construction documents
• Prepare and submit daily field logs reporting data collected, field observations, actions taken, and recommended actions to be taken
• Report field conditions and test results to supervisor and sometimes directly to the client
• Perform sampling and/or monitoring, which can include the following: soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, air, geosynthetics, landfill gas and leachate
• Coordinate work with contractors, subcontractors, and laboratories
• Prepare documentation reports for construction activities observed, health & safety plans, and other work documents
• Complete a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training (IF NOT TRAINED ALREADY)
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions

- 0-2 years of some type of civil construction / earth work experience
- Some type of Quality Control or Inspection work would be preferred

- Need to be ok being in the field 100% of the time and working long hours during the summer (10-11 hour days M-F)
