Controls Engineer

Description:

Day One Project - this person will need be responsible for reviewing control one line diagrams, answering and finding resolutions to customer problems with the help of our two consultants ( why are systems programmed a certain why, how the system will run based on the controls program). They are on a right project deadline to have a machine shipped and installed to Japan by the end of May. This person will help with documenting and corresponding with customer about updates on where the system and equipment stand while helping with the technical programming work as well. 50% interacting with customers for the first 2 months, 50% programming allen bradley PLC and troubleshooting the equipment

The next project this person will work on is getting the Tigard facility up and running by implementing controls and upgrades to their current systems. They will work on projects that will lead to lower lead times (how can they program the equipment to run faster and more effectively). The reactor and the subcontractor they are working with needs someone to review their one line electrical documents so they are complete and updated.

This person will also create engineering documents from scratch that outline what the systems do and how they work. This is not a technical document(s) that will be given out to customers just for the internal team so they know what is going on. In the past when people have left they do not know why systems were programmed the way they were or how to edit / fix them if they are no longer working.

design and develop control systems

develop and maintain systems, utilizing Rockwell Automation and Allen-Bradley PLC's - need to be able to do the documentation such as standards, specifications, and management of change for these systems

will need to implement alarm management systems (when the equipment stops working or does something it should not do)

experience commissioning, completing performance testing, and troubleshooting

Ideally would have an EE Degree

PLC Programming

Commissioning and Installation

One line diagram

Chemical industry exposure would be a plus

Remote work unless the plant needs onsite assistance or they have an onsite customer meeting

Experience Level:

Intermediate Level

Salary : $100,000 - $135,000
