Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

Actalent is seeking a dedicated Controls Engineer near Smyrna, TN. This role involves designing and developing automation control systems tailored to client specifications, with opportunities for travel and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Travel up to 25% to various customer sites.
• Design automation control systems based on customer specifications.
• Develop detailed electrical drawings.
• Program automation and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and vision systems.
• Design and debug Data Acquisition systems (SCADA).
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s or Technical degree or certificate in a controls-related field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Ability to read, revise, and create new logic for PLCs, HMI/SCADA programs, and VFD parameters.
• Proficiency in programming HMI/SCADA systems like Factory Talk, Ignition, and Cimplicity.
• Capability to program from scratch using Rockwell and Siemens technologies.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical design and controls engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with conveyor systems.
• Familiarity with ladder logic.
• Experience in Food/Beverage, Chemical, Wastewater industries, or Automotive.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
